Product video production

Not what the product can do, but what it changes for someone.

product video laten maken

A product video sells the moment, not the product

Most product videos are only about the product. It spins, it shines, the specs appear on screen. That looks good, but the viewer still doesn't know why they need it.

A customer first recognises their own problem. The fitter who has to repair a leaking pipe without extra tools. The motorcyclist who wants protection you can't see. Only once that moment is in place does the product become interesting.

That is why we think from the user, not from the product. Which moment do they recognise, and what changes when they have this product? That determines the story. The video can perfectly well open with the product and a promise, and then move to the problem. As long as the story is about the user.

Specs tell you nothing, the difference does

To a customer, a list of specifications is a list of claims. Lighter, faster, maintenance-free. Everyone says it, and so it no longer convinces.

Show what that spec changes in practice, and it becomes credible. For GF Waga that was one movement: tighten the bolts, and the clamping and sealing system does the rest. No tools, no explanation needed. That one moment sells the coupling better than any table.

Our approach: understand how it works, show what it delivers

Founder Joris is an industrial design engineer. That means we talk to your engineers at their level, and we know what happens inside a product before we decide what appears on screen.

We use that knowledge to choose, not to show everything. A product video is not a manual. The technology has to be right down to the detail, but only what convinces the customer appears on screen.

What should your customer want afterwards?

Send along what you have: CAD files, a prototype or just an idea. You will hear from us within one working day.

What sets us apart in product video

A product video has to be correct for the engineer and convincing for the customer. That takes three things.

The user's problem first

We first find out which moment the customer recognises. That determines the story, and the specs serve as proof.

Ready for the launch

Main video, short versions, stills, webshop images and a trade show loop from one production. That way the launch has the same look everywhere.

Build up step by step

You don't have to make everything at once. Start with one still as a teaser or as the first image on the website, and expand later with a short animation or detail renders, when the budget is there. If you can only share a prototype at first and the final CAD model comes later, we make the next step based on that new model.

One production, the whole launch

From the same 3D model you get more than one video. In concrete terms:

Launch video. The main video for the website, the press announcement and the first sales conversation.

Webshop and product page. Stills and short loops per product variant, in the same lighting and style.

Social media. Short and vertical versions that show one benefit.

Trade show. A loop without sound that can be read from a distance, as for REV'IT at Intermot and EICMA.

Sales. Detail renders and exploded views for presentations and quotes.

Updates. A new variant or a changed component? Then we adapt the model instead of starting again.

What a product video costs

With us, a product video starts from €10,000 excluding VAT. That amount applies to a complete animation.

Product video: from €10,000, 6 to 10 weeks

Launch set with multiple deliverables: €12,500 to €20,000, 6 to 10 weeks

A still or a first visual falls outside that. With a CAD model or a first prototype we can make a first image, or a simple animation, within a few days. What that costs depends on the expectations and the state of the model. We are always happy to discuss it.

All prices exclude VAT. Want to see the prices of all types of animation side by side? Take a look at animation production.

How an enquiry works with us

You will hear from us within one working day. Usually with a few questions, because a budget that makes sense doesn't come from a single email.

After that there are two routes. If you need a number now, we give a rough estimate based on what you have sent us. If you have half an hour, we discuss the project and you then receive a well-founded scope with a matching budget. The second route gives a better answer, and often a different project than you had in mind.

In a hurry? Feel free to call. We do the same the other way round.

How a product video
comes together at our studio

Briefing

After your enquiry you will hear from us within one working day, usually with a few questions. Then we schedule an introduction. We focus straight away on the content and the context: what needs explaining, to whom, and where will the animation be used? Together we map out where the communication friction lies and which decision you want to speed up, whether that is sales, an investor presentation, onboarding or stakeholder communication. Based on that we make a proposal with a clear scope, timeline and budget, including options for reuse. Once approved, we get started.

Concept & storytelling

We translate the substance into a narrative: what does the viewer need to understand first, what comes next, and how do we build towards the core? This is the phase in which we do the most substantive sparring and lay the foundation for an animation that is logically structured. You receive a fully developed concept with core message, structure and tone of voice.

Kick-off

At the kick-off everyone involved sits at the table. We define the storyline, discuss the inspiration and ask each other questions: we about the content, you about the process. We agree the timeline, fix the feedback moments and agree who has a say and who bundles the feedback. That last agreement is the most important one of the whole project.

Storyboarding

The narrative is worked out visually in a storyboard. You see per scene what will appear on screen, how the structure flows and where the accents lie. This is the key moment to steer: changes here are fast and save costs further down the production.

Concept design

We develop the visual style: colour palette, atmosphere, level of detail and what the 3D models look like. This can range from hyper-realistic to abstract, depending on what suits the story and the brand. You receive style frames so you can see exactly which direction we are taking.

Production

The 3D scenes are built, animated and rendered. Because the substantive choices have already been made, this phase remains manageable and predictable. You receive interim previews, so we can adjust together if needed.

Sound

Music, sound effects and any voice-over are added. This largely determines the sense of professionalism and pacing. Good sound makes a significant difference in how an animation comes across and holds attention.

Release

The animation is delivered in the agreed formats and resolutions, ready for deployment. If agreed, we also deliver variants (stills, cutdowns, platform formats) and advise on the best deployment per channel.

Product video, technical animation or 3D animation?

Product video. Sells the product: for customers, marketing and the launch. The technology is correct, but the difference for the user is central.

Technical animation. Explains how it works: for engineers, technicians and maintenance. Then take a look at technical animation production.

3D animation. That is the technique, not a goal. Most product videos are 3D, but not every 3D animation is a product video. More about that at 3D animation production.

Not sure? Then we decide together in the first conversation.
