D.O.R.C. exports its instruments and equipment to more than eighty countries worldwide and has its own sales and marketing organizations in France, UK, USA, China and the Netherlands, among others.
Product
D.O.R.C. works intensively with leading top surgeons. Their knowledge, combined with a unique mix of talent for developing new ideas, high design quality and a strong product philosophy, results in highly innovative products. These products are used for cataract, retinal and combined surgery and various related instrument innovations.
The goal
The purpose of the animations is to inform and interest an important target group of ophthalmic surgeons and nursing staff. The animations have multiple purposes, they have been used to launch the products, but also for both training and sales. That's why they had to be instructive, informative, and promotional.
Our solution
In our long-term partnership with D.O.R.C., we make animated videos that highlight the innovative features and give surgeons insight into how to use the system/products through the right match between abstraction and realism. We will continue to work on a complete package of resources for multiple platforms.
final result
We developed a complete package of assets for multiple platforms. This includes a set of animations for the EVA NEXUS™ system and standalone animations for complementary products such as EVA AVETA™, EVA EQUIPHACO™ and EVA INICIO™.
process
Using animation is a unique and innovative way in ophthalmology to link clinical accuracy to the end result. Real life images are often used to show the instruction. That's why the biggest challenge was to work without references, the animations had to be created based on interpretations. We researched what it should be like in real life and translated this into a 3D environment.
outcomes
During the projects, we worked closely with both the D.O.R.C. team and leading clinicians, who helped us develop the products and advised us through the process of creating the animations.. Their enthusiasm has led to continuous requests for more comprehensive variants for various purposes, e.g. training videos, printable stills, social shorts, presentation materials, etc. That's why we're continuing to work on various projects.
